Austrian help for Pakistan by Gerfried Göschl
(22.12.2005)
My father Rainer Göschl and my mother Katharina have been in Pakistan, exactly in the time of the earthquake. So they saw all the bad things there. Coming back my father Rainer founded a charity drive in our homeland Styria (Austria). Many people helped and we got some money.
In these hours my father Rainer Göschl and my brother Sieghard are sitting in an airoplane to Pakistan. Together with our friend Hasil Shar (G2 climber from Shimshal valley). They will bring tents, sleeping bags, clothes and food to the poor victims in the surroundings of Besham at high altitude. Hasil brought some things there some weeks ago. He send my some pictures. The man with the red cap is our friend Hasil Shar.
In 2007 I´m planing an 50 years anniversary expedition to Broad Peak. To celebrate the style of Buhl, Schmuck, Diemberger and Wintersteller we want to make acclimatisation on G2 or G1. On BP we want to climb in pure alpine style in the footsteps of our Austrian idols.
Greetings from Austria
Gerfried Göschl
