Broad Peak Club: 268 Ascents

After the 2005 climbing season, our database counts 267 ascents to the Main Summit (8047m) and the first ascent to the North Peak by Renato Casarotto in 1983. Besides the standard route of the Austrian first ascent in 1957, there is the Polish route of Jerzy Kukuczka and Wojciech Kurtyka in 1984 climed also by three Japanese climbers in 1995 and the new SW face by Denis Urubko and Serguey Samoilov in 2005.
Four climbers appear twice in our database with their second ascent and 10 female climbers have reached the Main Summit.
263 climbers of the Main Summit 8047m represent 29 nations: Japan 48 (inclusive 3 female), Italy 21 (1), Germany 20 (1), Spain 20, Switzerland 18, USA 16 (1), Austria 15, South Korea 14, Slovenia 12 (1), Australia 11, Pakistan 10, Nepal 9, Poland 9 (1), Kazahkstan 8, United Kingdom 8 (1), Czech Republic 4, France 3, Bulgaria 2, Canada 2 (1), Denmark 2, Hungary 2, Mexico 2, and one climber each from Columbia, Ecuador, Iran, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, and last but not least Sweden.
